Parmigiani Fleurier Unveils the TONDA PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet Mineral Blue

The Swiss Maison introduces the world’s first luxury chronograph crafted entirely in Ultra-Cermet, blending aerospace-grade materials with haute horlogerie

Innovation in fine watchmaking is rarely loud. It is built over years of research and craftsmanship, and the new TONDA PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet Mineral Blue perfectly reflects Parmigiani Fleurier’s philosophy of understated excellence.

Rather than simply launching another luxury sports watch, the independent Swiss manufacture has created the first timepiece whose entire external architecture is crafted from Ultra-Cermet—an advanced material more commonly found in aerospace and high-performance engineering.

The result is a chronograph that combines technical innovation, exceptional durability and refined elegance.

A Material Designed for the Future

Ultra-Cermet blends advanced ceramic with titanium, delivering the hardness of ceramic while preserving the cool touch and subtle light reflection of metal.

Depending on the light, the case shifts between anthracite, deep black and delicate blue tones, giving the watch remarkable visual depth.

Developing the material required more than three years of research. Produced through an advanced sintering process, ceramic and titanium powders are fused under heat and pressure. More than 90% of the raw material is rejected to ensure the highest quality.

The finished material reaches 1,450 Vickers hardness, offering exceptional scratch resistance while remaining lightweight and comfortable on the wrist.

Unlike coated cases, Ultra-Cermet is not a surface treatment—it forms every one of the watch’s 73 exterior components, including the case, bezel, crown, pushers and buckle.

Modern Architecture Meets Sporting Elegance

The 42.5 mm case showcases alternating satin-brushed and polished finishes that highlight its sculptural design without unnecessary embellishment.

The Mineral Blue dial complements the monochromatic case with subtle depth. Finished in Blackor and Mineral Blue tones, it features hand-applied 18-carat Blackor-plated gold indices with luminescent coating for excellent legibility.

A matching Mineral Blue rubber strap, designed with a refined textile-like texture, provides exceptional comfort while completing the watch’s contemporary aesthetic.

High-Frequency Mechanical Excellence

Powering the watch is Parmigiani Fleurier’s PF070 manufacture calibre, a COSC-certified automatic chronograph operating at 36,000 vibrations per hour (5Hz).

Its high-frequency movement improves timing precision and chronometric stability while delivering a 65-hour power reserve. Despite housing 288 components and 42 jewels, the movement measures only 6.95 mm thick.

Visible through the sapphire caseback, satin-finished open-worked bridges and a skeletonised 22-carat rose gold rotor showcase the Maison’s meticulous attention to detail.

Built for Contemporary Living

Designed for travel, business and everyday performance, the TONDA PF Sport Chronograph offers 100 metres of water resistance, exceptional durability and remarkable comfort.

Its appeal lies in its restraint. Every material, proportion and mechanical element serves a purpose, creating a watch that feels both highly technical and effortlessly elegant.

With the TONDA PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet Mineral Blue, Parmigiani Fleurier demonstrates that the future of luxury watchmaking is defined not only by mechanical innovation, but also by the materials that shape it.
