Your career has spanned various industries, from music with Deezer to media with Warner Bros. Discovery. How has this diverse experience shaped your approach to leading Enhance Fitness & Enhance Tech in the fitness world?

David Epstein’s book ‘Range’ beautifully covers this topic, and it has been a profound source of inspiration for me. I’ve come to appreciate the immense value of a diverse set of experiences. In a world as fast and dynamic as the fitness industry, this range of perspectives and skills have been a true asset to me. It has allowed me to think beyond traditional boundaries and approach challenges with a more open and adaptable mindset.

In each industry I’ve been a part of, I’ve encountered unique best practices. By working in music and media, I’ve had the opportunity to observe and learn from the strategies and methods that have been successful in these highly competitive and creative sectors; and adapt and apply these best practices to the fitness space.

If I had to narrow down the key takeaways, I would say that my experiences have taught me the importance of understanding and appreciating the unique qualities and talents each person brings to the table. In the fitness industry, fostering a motivating and inclusive environment is key for retaining a cohesive team.The right team, with the right blend of skills and perspectives, is the heart of our success.

A big part of working in the music streaming industry was also learning how to develop customer-centric tech products and provide exceptional customer support. This has been invaluable in building the Enhance Tech stack.

I’ve gained insights into discerning what truly resonates with our audience and how to tailor our offerings to meet their specific needs. It’s not just about offering services; it’s about delivering an exceptional customer experience. This customer-centric approach has been a driving force in shaping the technology and services we provide through Enhance Fitness and Enhance Tech.

Being exposed to a variety of business models, market dynamics, and long-term strategies, I feel has broadened my perspective and equipped me with the ability to set clear, realistic objectives and navigate the complex world of business development.

Enhance Fitness is a leading provider of personal trainers in the Middle East. What inspired you to start this venture, and what challenges did you face in establishing it as a prominent player in the fitness industry?

My inspiration for launching Enhance Fitness stemmed from a personal injury that required me to work very closely with a personal trainer. This experience ended up revealing substantial opportunities for enhancing the personal training space.

Establishing Enhance Fitness hasn’t been without its fair share of challenges: from overcoming financial constraints, to navigating unforeseen events like pandemics and global crises, and facing competition from others attempting to emulate our business model. As an entrepreneur, I’ve embraced the inevitable ups and downs inherent in building a business from the ground up. 

You’re introducing a cutting-edge SaaS enterprise solution for large-scale gym operators worldwide. Can you elaborate on how this technology is revolutionizing the personal training business and what benefits it offers to both gyms and clients?

First and foremost, our SaaS solution offers gym operators a game-changing level of efficiency and transparency.

It streamlines administrative tasks, allowing trainers to focus more on their clients, and managers to optimize operations. By centralizing data and automating scheduling and billing processes, it reduces the burden of manual paperwork, enabling gyms to provide a smoother, more professional experience for their clients.

Our technology provides invaluable insights through granular data analytics that help gyms make informed decisions about their training programs and customer engagement. This data-driven approach enables them to tailor their offerings to their client needs and preferences, ultimately increasing their customer satisfaction and retention rates.

For clients, it creates a new level of visibility with access to real-time progress tracking, customized training plans, and seamless communication with their trainers. This enhanced transparency not only empowers clients but also fosters a stronger sense of trust and accountability between trainers, clients, and management.

In essence, our solution strengthens the bond between trainers and clients while providing gym operators with the tools to operate efficiently and deliver a superior experience. It’s a win-win for all parties involved. 

How do you envision the future of tech-powered fitness, and how does Enhance Tech contribute to this vision?

I envision a pivotal shift towards what Peter Attia terms ‘Med 3.0,’ a concept he discusses in his book ‘Outlive.’ Instead of primarily relying on prescriptive medicine to treat diseases, we’re witnessing a significant change in mindset towards preventive medicine. It’s about leading healthier lives to reap long-term benefits and reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases.

This shift is driven by a growing awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. More and more people and industries are incorporating healthy eating and regular exercise into their daily routines. The demand for wellness services is on the rise, and technology is becoming a critical component in scaling, monitoring, and improving these services.

This is where Enhance Tech comes into play. Through our PT management software and advanced technology infrastructure, we empower fitness businesses to thrive in this new era. Our solutions enable gyms, trainers, and clients to seamlessly connect and interact, making fitness more accessible, engaging, and effective.

Your commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles is evident. Can you share how this focus empowers trainers to provide an exceptional personal training experience for clients?

Clients are at the heart of everything we do. We live by the motto “train better,” and this philosophy resonates throughout every aspect of our approach.

First, our software equips trainers with the tools to design better, more personalized workouts. They can tailor training plans to suit the unique needs and goals of each client, ensuring that every session is as effective and engaging as possible. This level of customization is key to fostering client satisfaction and achieving better and lasting results.

Second, our app empowers clients to play an active role in their fitness journey. They have the ability to monitor their progress, track their sessions, and stay connected with their trainers. This increased visibility and engagement keeps our clients motivated, accountable, and well-informed about their own achievements.

In-session quality is another pillar of our approach as we enable trainers to leverage technology during training sessions. Real-time data and insights help our trainers make immediate adjustments, ensuring that clients receive the most effective guidance and support.

You’ve been actively involved with Dubai Angel Investors (DAI) and have led more than 15 startups to success. What do you look for when investing in and nurturing entrepreneurial ventures, and how does this tie into your overall mission?

I place significant importance on the founding team. Startup life is a challenging journey, and it’s often filled with setbacks and obstacles. For a venture to succeed, the founding team must be resilient, cohesive, and well-prepared to weather the storms that come their way. This emphasis on the team’s strength and unity is essential to investment strategy.

I also look for essential factors such as product-market fit. A startup’s ability to address a specific need in the market and scale its solution is a critical component of success. I also seek uniqueness and innovation in their ideas. What sets them apart from the competition? What are they doing better or differently? These questions are crucial in our evaluation process.

In your extensive career, what have been some of the most significant lessons or moments that have influenced your leadership style and the direction of your companies?

There have been tremendous moments of learning throughout my career that have left a lasting imprint on me. Perhaps the most crucial principle is the art of selecting the right people to turn a vision into reality.

In the world of leadership, the people you surround yourself with can make all the difference. Building a team of skilled, dedicated, and especially aligned individuals is the cornerstone of any successful venture. It’s about finding those who share your passion and can bring unique strengths to the table.

One of the most memorable lessons I’ve learned is that no matter how groundbreaking your vision is, it’s the collective effort and collaboration of the team that can truly propel it forward. These lessons have not only influenced my leadership style but have also been instrumental in shaping the direction of my companies.

I’ve learned, sometimes the hard way, about the importance of assembling the right team. It’s not always an easy process, and I’ve made my share of mistakes along the way. But over time and with more experience, the gap between those mistakes has gradually reduced. It’s a continuous journey of growth and learning, and these lessons remain guiding principles on my journey.

Can you tell us more about the global journey Enhance Fitness is embarking on? What are your aspirations for the company’s future on a global scale, and how do you plan to achieve them?

At Enhance Fitness, we’re embarking on a global journey by introducing our SaaS enterprise solution for large-scale gym operators worldwide.

Our mission is clear: we’re leveraging advanced predictive modeling to boost revenue, reduce client churn, and optimize the value for personal training clients. This journey is a natural extension of our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles. We aim to make fitness more accessible and effective for people around the world, using technology as a driving force. Our vision is to lead the way in reshaping the global fitness industry.
