The IMG Worlds of Legends will be spread across two million square feet.

It’s been barely a few months since the 1.5-million square foot IMG Worlds of Adventure, currently the world’s largest indoor theme park, opened in Dubai. Today, IMG Worlds announced that they’re going to build yet another theme park adjacent to the existing one that will be connected to each other via a sky.

The new theme park, called IMG World of Legends, will be a 2 million square-foot playground that will upon completion snatch the title for the world’s largest indoor theme park. The facility will be open every day of the year and housed under a massive retractable roof that will be pulled over when the outdoor temperatures soar, and retracted during the months when the temperature is a little more forgiving.

There are several global brands that have lined up to partner on this new project. They include industry biggies including Nickelodeon, Pokémon, Mattel, Cartoon Network and Ubisoft, among others. IMG World’s proprietary brands – Legends of Arabia and Lost Valley – Dinosaur Adventure – will also be featured in the new theme park. The attractions will include roller coasters and interactive rides. Divided into nine zones, the World of Legends will include a total of 102,000 square feet of retail space and 104,000 square feet of food and beverage space.

Dubai has seen a meteoric rise in the number of theme parks that have been announced and opened to the public in recent months. These include Motiongate, Legoland and Bollywood Dubai, to name a few. This latest project from IMG Worlds though is set to steal the thunder from all the others owing the sheer size of the project. With Dubai currently ranking as the fourth most visited city in the world, there’s one more mega entertainment destination to add to the list of options for those visiting the city over the next few years.
